You really have to be able to sit with yourself. Despite all the things that may arise, you must get through it. Do what you must to get through it. But don’t run from it. Don’t avoid it. But by all means do what you must to make your way through the dirt. Hold your own hand, pat your own back, comfort yourself with your own whimper. For this too shall pass. We must love ourselves. Therefore we must love all the filth and inadequacies that we stir up within us in times of stillness. When I say love it does not imply to embrace these things. However do not act out against them either. Recognize them and let them dissipate. Let them flow onward just as they did before. That is love. Close your eyes and trust. The work is being done. All we must do is love the fool in ourselves and let it go. How can we reach depths in another if we cannot reach depths within ourselves? How can we truly love another if we cannot love both blessings and monstrosities within ourselves? How can we know another if we do not know ourselves?
